Guinea, the victorious team in the 2023 U16 AfroBasket held in Tunisia, has secured their spot to represent the continent at the upcoming 2024 U17 World Cup in Turkey this June. The Guinean squad finds themselves in a challenging pool, set to compete against USA, France, and China. Many critics have dubbed this group as the tournament's "Group of Death."
Mali, considered a strong contender for the AfroBasket U18 final, which will take place from August 9 to 18 in South Africa, showcased its prowess at the recently concluded Tournoi de l'Amitié in Bamako.
In the women's division, Mali dominated Tunisia with a commanding 67-37 victory in the final, led by Mable Doumbia's impressive 18-point performance. Following suit, the men's team, the Aiglons, secured a 64-54 win in their final match. Meanwhile, Senegal triumphed over Guinea in the third-place match with a scoreline of 77-55.
Bopp secured a notable victory over Jeanne d'Arc with a scoreline of 58-49 in the eighth round of the Women's National 1 Championship in Senegal. Ndeye Sène, with 19 points, and Fatou Mbaye, contributing 14 points, showcased their experience and leadership, guiding their team to success.
