Senegal: Gueye signs for Burundi's Dynamo BBC

Makhtar Gueye, who impressed several scouts and general mangers at the recent Basketball Africa League Combine, in Morocco, wasted no time in finding a club for the upcoming season 4.

The Senegalese international winger has recently inked a deal with Dynamo BBC, the reigning champions of Burundi who qualified for The BAL, late last year. This marks his second appearance in the BAL, following his stint with Mozambique titans Ferroviario Da Beira last season.

ASVD & DUC win the Champions Trophy

The 2024 basketball season kicked off on Saturday 20th January with the Champions Trophy at the Stadium Marius Ndiaye. In the women's competition, AS Ville de Dakar won at the expense of Dakar University Club (62-40), while the DUC men's team pick up the trophy by default due to a forfeit by AS Douanes.

Senegal's 12 Lionesses Announces Squad for FIBA Olympic Qualifiers


Senegal Lionesses coach Alberto Antuna has unveiled his list for the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualification Tournament (OQT). The twelve-player squad aim to  defend Senegal's colours in Belgium from February 8-11.

The roster predominantly consists of players who were integral parts of the 2023 FIBA Women's AfroBasket squad in Kigali. Notable names such as Africa Women's Basketball League MVP Cierra Dillard, Yacine Diop, and others will continue to be key contributors in the upcoming campaign. Additionally, newcomers Ndioma "Didi" Kane and Sokhna Adji Fall have joined the team, while the rim protector Maïmouna Diarra is making a notable comeback.

Guinea

Former SLAC players Ibrahima Kalil Fofoana and Oumar Barry, both hailing from Guinea, participated in the  Basketball Africa League Combine.

Mali: Impressive Sanogo


Mali's Adama Sanogo showcased an impressive performance during his G-League game between for the Windy City Bulls against Philly's Blue Coats. In a high-stakes game that his team secured with a 115-113 victory, the skilled winger delivered a standout performance, contributing 32 points and securing 17 rebounds.
