As the basketball scene in Zone 2 of Africa gains momentum, teams are gearing up for upcoming competitions, promising thrilling action and significant developments.

In Cape Verde, the men's national team is preparing for Window 6 of the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.
They will play their first match against Guinea on Friday, February 24th, in Angola's Pavilhao Multiusos de Luanda.
Meanwhile, preparations for the Regional Championship Seasons are underway, with each region sending their champions to the national tournament.
Additionally, the Cape Verde federation is getting ready for elections in March.
In Guinea, ambitious plans are on the horizon as the basketball federation announces the creation of a professional league.
"A project that we have been working on for five years and that will come to fruition this year 2023. All clubs will be converted into companies, and thus we will be able to participate in the BAL without any difficulty," said the federation's president, Sakouba Keit.
The announcement signifies a significant step forward for Guinea's basketball landscape.
Mali is also making moves to strengthen their basketball program.
After recent elections saw the victory of Mr Jean Claude Sidibe as the head of the federation, the new leadership got to work. They met with various authorities in the country and then traveled to the headquarters of FIBA Africa in Abidjan, where they met with leaders of other African basketball organisations. The new president also met with the president of the Ivorian federation, Mahama Coulibaly.
In addition, the new national technical director, El Hadji Dicko, has brought all Malian basketball coaches together to strengthen the technical commission. The office has also met with various partners of Malian basketball, including the PMU, the national sports and physical education department, and the National Olympic and Sports Committee, to consolidate support for the federation.
In Senegal, the new season of the national basketball championship is underway.
The Senegalese Basketball Federation launched the season with the tournament of the four greats, where four boys' and girls' clubs met for the semi-finals and finals.
In the girls' category, AS Ville de Dakar and Dakar Université Club (DUC) competed in the final, with AS Ville de Dakar coming out on top.
In the boys' category, Jeanne d'Arc of Dakar surprised everyone by defeating reigning champion AS DOUANES in the semi-finals and going on to beat Dakar Université Club (DUC) in the final.
