Libya (National Team)

In the final of the Arab Nations Championship, held in Cairo, Egypt on 3 January, Egypt, led by Anas Mahmoud (19 points), beat Libya 87/62. Omar Fowaz (27 points) and Mohamed Buzgaiya (14 points) were the stand-out performers for Libya.

Defending champion Al Alhy Benghazi (D1) landed experienced 34-year-old Libyan-American international 198cm swingman Tony Mitchell (college: Alabama) for new season. Mitchell is the second foreign player in the roster as Ivorian Souleyman Diabate signed here earlier.

He started the season at Beirut Club in Lebanese LBL league. In 7 games he averaged 10.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

MOROCCO

It's off to the second legs of the national first division championship, with some surprise results such as Tangiers, who were beaten by WAC Casablanca by a 3-point basket at the buzzer (57/58), and Raja, who beat Majd Tangiers.

TUNISIA

The national technical directorate began its training programme with a course in statistics. Sixteen candidates from different regions took part in this course, which was both fruitful and beneficial. Other courses are scheduled to follow.
