Seifeldin Hendawy: Egypt's Second-Generation Basketball Prodigy

Seifeldin Hendawy will forever cherish the memory of clinching his inaugural continental title in 2021, as Egypt emerged victorious in the FIBA U16 African Championship, hosted in Cairo's Olympic Stadium.

In eight games, Hendawy has made a notable impact, showcasing his talent's on the hardwood to help Egyptian squad capture the championship:

One year later, he elevated his game with an outstanding performance at the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup, accomplishing it in one less game:

Born on September 5, 2005, Seifeldin Hendawy hails from a basketball-loving family, where he holds the distinction of being the eldest among his dad, mom, and two younger brothers, all active participants in the sport.

Right from the start, Seifeldin's burgeoning success has been fueled by his passion, skillset, and impressive height of 1.98 meters. His journey took him to the NBA Academy in Dakar, Senegal, where he forged a lasting friendship with Nadir, a talented young Moroccan player.

Currently, Hendawy's aspirations include securing victory at the African U18 Championship in Madagascar, pursuing further development at the NBA Academy, and ultimately signing with a professional team as he continues his ascent in the realm of basketball.

Coach Amr Abouelkir extended the call-up to the squad, and Seifeldin eagerly joined his friends from the title-winning U16 team to proudly represent his country. His anticipation, however, extended beyond the game, as he looked forward to the playful antics that Coach Douga had in store for the team this time.

In a light-hearted pledge, he assured fans that, in Madagascar, the team would collectively perform the "Macarena" to signal their strong determination to clinch victory. We're eagerly anticipating this spirited display!
