Pinned down with only 2 points for 7 minutes at the start of the game till the end of the first quarter, the University of Douala found the Sporting defence too tough to breach. Meanwhile Sporting Club saw that as an advantage to take total control of the game.
A partially similar scenario in the second period but this time it seemed there was an AWBL scoring contest in Alexandria. At halftime, the University of Douala bled from the arrows of Sporting conceding 28.0 fast breakpoints, 41 points which were from turnovers. Regarding height and size in favour of Sporting, they used that to their advantage, dominating the paint with 48 points and 20 of these points obtained from second chances at halftime.
In the last two periods it was the same story as Sporting blatantly denied their basket to the ladies of University of Douala, provoking a total of 33 turnovers, this allowed Sporting to cruise their defence. To that, Hager Amer, Egyptian star player, made way with 26 points 10 rebounds and 4 steals, a double-double evening for Hager Amer.
University of Douala did not give up as rookie Williams Amayaba fought her way with 14 points and 4 rebounds but this wasn’t enough to save them from the claws of Sporting Club. The game settled in a 66 points difference 49-115.
