The Gabonese Basketball Federation recently held discussions with the National Basketball League. Their objective was to revitalise LINAB's activities, align its statutes with new regulations, and, most importantly, implement a comprehensive restructuring.
During this meeting, the Federation President seized the chance to dismiss FEGABAB's Ordinary General Assembly resolutions held on September 3, 2022. The assembly granted discharge to the Federal Office, empowering them to establish an Ad Hoc Committee to explore avenues for revitalising the National Basketball League. Additionally, the President aimed to present the activity proposals outlined in the Ad Hoc Committee's report, submitted to the Federal Office during the Ordinary General Assembly on September 3, 2023.
In a lengthy meeting, the following decisions were reached:
- A Félix Ambourout Onanga-chaired committee will be established to oversee the organisation of the election for the President of LINAB.
- The Committee for the organisation of the election will consist of five members. Alongside the president, the parties involved will collectively select the other four members.
- Starting from February 15, 2024, the Committee will have a 45-day timeframe to formulate specifications for welcoming new members, establish the quorum for participating in the election of the LINAB President, and organise the electoral process.
