Basket Academy Club

On Saturday, March 16, 2024, the Basket Academy Club, in collaboration with the Youzou Bac League, hosted an exhilarating basketball tournament at the Parc de la Place de Fête Demouila in Ngounie. Several clubs participated, including Ngwambila BB, Accetone, Association Kobe Bryant 275 BB, and Olam BB.

The competition was exclusively for the U15 to U18 age group, encompassing both sexes. It was a promising event, marked by intensity and unexpected turns. Alongside the conventional five vs. five games, a 3x3 tournament added another layer of play and competition for the participants. The showcase gave the young hoopers a unique opportunity to showcase their skills and passion for basketball.

Elite Men’s Championship

It was a thrilling game day in the Cameroon Elite Men’s Championship as Beac Basketball bid farewell to the title race. Following three consecutive defeats, Beac Basketball made a comeback attempt by winning two of their last three games, securing the sixth position. They now look ahead to the second round, hoping to improve their chances of proving the naysayers wrong.

Their aspirations took a hit when they lost the final game of the first round against the underdogs, Falcons Basketball, with a score of 66-73. This setback continued into the first game of the second round, where the determined Alph Basketball defeated them 56-48. Led by former head coach of FAP and two-time Basketball Africa League participant Francois Enyegue, the team managed to outwit one of the most seasoned teams in the Cameroon Elite Basketball Championship.

This shifts the dynamics for FAP, who had a rough start to the season and are currently in second place on the championship table. Taking the lead for the first time is Kadji Sports Academy, demonstrating their prowess by defeating Ecole de Basket, who also suffered a loss to Douala Firebirds. Days 9 and 10 of the Elite Men’s championship are scheduled in Douala from Saturday, March 23rd, to Sunday, March 24th, 2024.
