In an electrifying Zone 4 Road to BAL qualifier, Kadji Sports Academy clinched a commanding 83-62 victory over Abeilles of the Central African Republic, securing their place in the Elite 16. Kadji Sports Academy began by imposing their offensive rhythm, exploiting every possible resource.
This game was a lifeline, determining whether Kadji would advance to the Elite 16 after a loss to Chaux Sports in their previous game.
Kadji took a comfortable 21-point lead before halftime, but Abeilles proved relentless, narrowing the margin to just five points as the fourth quarter began. Despite losing star player Billy Kamayengue in the final stretch due to two unsportsmanlike fouls, Abeilles gained momentum, fighting even harder and challenging every Kadji Sports shot attempt.
Joel Ntambwe scored 14 points, joined by teammates Kurt-Curry Wegscheider and Kamayengue in double digits with 12 and 13 points respectively; however, it wasn't enough to secure a victory.
However, Kadji Sports' poise under pressure shone through as Bileg Simon, Nzeuli, and Kenneth Kadji stepped up in key moments, delivering crucial baskets that extended their lead and ultimately secured the victory. Their combined efforts proved too much for Abeilles, whose spirited fight was met with a steady response from Kadji. This intense game highlighted both teams' hearts and tenacity, but Kadji Sports Academy's calm and decisive scoring secured their place in the Elite 16.
