Cameroon

Cameroon is set to host two major basketball events, underscoring the country's growing prominence in African basketball. The city of Douala will stage both the Road to BAL and the Zone 4 qualifiers for the African Women's Basketball Champions League. These tournaments will take place from 27 October to 1 November 2024 and showcase top teams from Central Africa.

Kadji Sports Academy, based in Douala, Cameroon, will host the Road to BAL, representing Cameroon as champions of the 2024 basketball season. This prestigious tournament is the first step for African teams hoping to qualify for the 2025 BAL season. Cameroon's team will be joined by competitors from Chad, Congo, Gabon, and the Central African Republic, all battling for a spot in the next phase of the BAL qualification process.

Simultaneously, the Zone 4 qualifiers for the African Women's Basketball Champions League will also be held in Douala. Hosted by FAP Basketball and the Daniel Battiston Foundation, this competition will feature teams from Congo, including CNSS and BC Makomeno. The top two teams will earn the right to compete in the continental tournament, bringing together the best women's basketball teams across Africa.

FAP Basketball and CNSS are no strangers to major basketball events, having established strong reputations in continental basketball. Meanwhile, The Daniel Battiston Foundation continues to support basketball development in the region, providing young talents the opportunity to compete at the highest levels.

Both tournaments will offer thrilling basketball action and serve as platforms for the development of talent in Central Africa, underscoring the region's commitment to the sport. Fans can expect an exciting display of basketball skill and determination as teams from across the region compete for continental glory.

Gabon

The Giants of Africa basketball camp will take place in Gabon from 10 to 13 October 2024, marking a significant event for the country's basketball landscape. In a recent meeting, Willy-Conrad ASSEKO, President of the Gabonese Basketball Federation (FEGABAB), welcomed the Giants of Africa Gabon coordination team and the National Technical Directorate of FEGABAB. The federation reaffirmed its support for the initiative and expressed appreciation for the camp's coordination team, led by Mrs. Geraldine Robert, who also serves as FEGABAB's National Technical Director for Women's Basketball.

The camp will bring together 60 young Gabonese talents (both boys and girls) from the nation's nine provinces, providing them with a unique platform to enhance their basketball skills under the guidance of both international and local coaches. This event offers a significant opportunity for the development of basketball in Gabon, providing exposure and high-level training for participants, which could elevate the sport across the country.
