Critical Victory Clinched by Last-Gasp 3-Pointer Propels Equity Bank to 3rd Place in Group B

On Friday, December 15, 2023, Equity Bank from Kenya and Overdose Up Station from Cameroon faced each other to decide the 3rd and 4th place in Group B.

This was necessary in order to avoid the large bracket of Group A. Equity Bank was the big winner, defeating Overdose Up Station 76-73. 

Judith Pantaleo saved the best for last as she was the hero of the day with 24 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. And the game could have gone either way, as it was Pantaleo's buzzer-beater that gave her team the win, much to the satisfaction of coach Benson Oluoch.

However, he tempered his joy when analyzing the victory: "Our time management was also not good and these are areas we need to work on going forward. We are still struggling to take care of the ball, we had 30 turnovers and Overdose [Up Station] scored 30 points off those. We need to have a conversation about that.
