Dream come true for CNSS as they obtain a wildcard for the inaugural African Women's Basketball League

Congo's CNSS Get's An Invite For The Party In Egypt

Following an unexpected defeat against University of Douala 83-55, CNSS of Congo saw their qualification opportunity elope into thin air despite their victory by 8 points 79 -71 against Overdose Up Station, the ladies of CNSS could barely swallow the bitter pill returning to Congo empty handed.

Ayenga, CNSS player said by allowing the University of Douala to open a wide margin from the start of the game, they wasted the game by throwing it away.

I didn’t play particularly well in this game but I hope to get better. Against Overdose up Station, I am hopeful we will play better and take a win. Anything can still happen.

Coach of CNSS Koko Ade emphasized that they came prepared for the encounter between Overdose up Station an CNSS.

We did not allow the fact that they beat us last year and we are going to just wait for them to do so again. This year is different and this win is important to us.

Notwithstanding those beautiful words of encouragement weren’t enough even after winning five times Cameroon champions Overdose up Station.

CNSS of Congo, recovered as a wildcard replacing AL Ahly of Egypt for some reasons are not taking part in the inaugural AWBL. CNSS finished 3rd place  during the qualifiers of the zone 4 which took place in Yaoundé in Cameroon. The 3 teams finished with the same number of points (one victory each and one defeat) and were decided by the Goal Difference which ranked Overdose first, followed by Universityof Douala second and CNSS third.
