Comoros

Training for Would-be Table Officials

Aspiring table officials were given two days of training, the first focusing on theory and the final day on practical sessions held at the Caso stadium in Ouani. This gave participants the opportunity to put into practice the fundamental principles imparted over the two days.

To round off the training session, the Ndzuani Regional Basketball League hosted a certificate award ceremony, attended by its president.

Madagascar

Mini-basketball Gathering Scheduled for This Month

Representatives from each local division of the Malagasy Basketball Federation will convene on March 25th-26th in Antananarivo for the annual mini-basketball forum. The primary purpose of this yearly assembly is to engage in discussions and formulate the principles for basketball at the foundational level. It also aims to equip youth coaches with the necessary resources for training children aged 12 and below.

Mauritius

Super League to commence in late March

Initially slated for mid-March, the Mauritian Super League is set to commence at the end of March, as revealed by Hedley Han, the chairperson of the Mauritius Basketball Federation (MBBF), speaking to the local media. However, before athletes can return to the court, they must successfully undergo fitness assessments, a requirement that has been in place since the preceding season.

Seychelles

3x3 Basketball to Feature at ACNOA Games in May

The capital of the Seychelles, Mahé, will host the 2024 edition of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) zone 7 – southern zone B Games for Zone 7, from May 6th to 11th. Among the sports disciplines selected is 3x3 basketball. This multi-sport event is open to athletes under the age of 18 from Zone 7 countries, which are Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar, Comoros, and Djibouti.
