Unconfirmed reports indicate that Unmatchedbaske1, a foundation created by a Tanzanian named Pheneas to increase the impact of both genders in basketball across the country, has partnered with Tanzania Basketball Federation to organise U16 and U18 National Team tryouts for boys.
According to the X handle that published the information, tagging the foundation's account in the process, the plan is to run two tryouts ahead of upcoming age-group competitions.
Efforts to confirm the information from the federation were unsuccessful.
US-based Rwandan international Bella Murekatete starred in the 2024 Women's College All-Star Game played on April 6.
The star centre, who plies her trade at Washington State Cougars women's basketball, helped Team Liberman to a 95-88 win over Team Miller with her team-high 7 rebounds along with 2 points and 2 steals.
