Gabon

YOUZOU ÉLITE BASKETBALL 2024

During a press conference, the Gabonese Basketball Federation presented the different jerseys to be used by the teams involved in the 2023-2024 season of the competition which is being held until June 2024. The opportunity was also given to FEGABAB to highlight the partnership with the Gabonese Ministry of Tourism with the Discover Gabon brand. Also, Willy Conrad Asseko, President of FEGABAB, congratulated the clubs from 4 provinces of Gabon who respected the specifications of the Gabonese National Amateur Basketball Championship.

The Gladiators picked up a tight win with a score of 77-74 in their game against CAS Le Phœnix.  While Owendo 7.0 triumphed with a score of 69-60 against Espoir BC in their match. Two exciting performances on the court for game day 2.

Central African Republic

The first edition of the girls and boys camp kicked off on Saturday 13th of January 2024 at the Bangui multipurpose sports complex. There were 30 children from 8 to 12 years old. The goal: "to make them want to play sports in general and basketball in particular". This was an activity of the association Sport Sans Frontières and its president Gabon Gongombe from France. Some coaches who accompanied the initiative were Wilfried Gongo, Anselme, Achta Kamine,Sonia Koyambonou and Princesse Mbaye Ndack.

Cameroon

Following the brainstorming session held in the cities of Douala and Yaoundé, the secretary general of the Cameroon Basketball Federation came to a suitable convention with the managers of division 1 teams on the start of the men and women's ELITE CHAMPIONSHIP. The ELITE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP 2024 season will see the light as from Saturday 20thand Sunday 21st of January 2024 in Douala. Meanwhile, the men will make their debut on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th of January2024.

Kadji Sports Academy portrays great appetite for the Cameroon championship tittle as they sign two times BAL participant, Semi-finalist, multiple times champion of Cameroon, three consecutive times MVP and scoring champion of Cameroon Etienne TAMETONG KALUME. Etienne TAMETONG recently helped FAP Basketball in their recent Road to BAL campaign which turned out unsuccessful. He will be joining Cedric Tsangue who recently left FAP Basketball.
