Diya Cissé was appointed General Secretary for the Malian Basketball Federation, stepping into his new position on March 4th.
AS Real (Women) and AS Mandé (Men) won the INPS Cup at the Palais des Sports Salamatou Maïga on Saturday. The girls' final pitted AS Real against AS Mandé, while the boys' final saw AS Mandé beat AS Police.
AS Douanes, runners-up in last season's Basketball Africa League, are determined to reclaim their podium position in the upcoming season. The club's management has successfully secured Ibrahima Thomas's talents to their BAL roster.
Thomas, who previously competed in the BAL with US Monastir, brings valuable experience to AS Douanes. During his time with the Tunisian club, Thomas showcased his prowess by averaging 13.4 points per game, the second-highest in the league, and leading US Monastir with an average of 7.2 rebounds during the BAL 2023 season.
The opening qualifying window for AfroBasket 2025 has brought positive developments for Guinean basketball. Following their impressive run, the Guinean Basketball Federation have risen up the FIBA world rankings, climbing three places to 76th. This achievement now places Guinea among the top 12 basketball nations in Africa.
