After two weeks of intense competition, the Malagasy U14 National Championships concluded with several decisive victories. Fandrefiala and BC EST emerged as champions in the women's division, each securing dominant wins in the finals. Fandrefiala defeated SEPA ABM 62-34, while BC EST overcame MB2ALL to the tune of a dominant 62-35 victory. ASBM Fitovinany claimed third place in the girls' tournament, edging out Ludacro Analamanga.
In the boys' tournament, BC EST triumphed over MB2ALL, and ASCUT Atsinanana took third place by defeating AKBB Analamanga.
Both tournaments also recognized their top performers with All-Star Five selections. The women's All-Star Five included Keilha Hantanirina (Ludacro Analamanga), Nirisoa Ninah (Fandrefiala Analamanga), Kessia Herinomenjanahary (ASBM Fitovinany), and Fanasina Andriatsiavonantsoa (NAS).
For the men, the All-Star Five featured Mandresy Randrianarivelo (MB2ALL), Hany Randja Rakotondrazafy (BC EST), Alyosha Mathis Rakotondraibe (AKBB), Ryan Rafanoharana (ASCUT), and Robert Ramananiaina (JSB).
The Diégo-Suarez Indoor Gymnasium in Madagascar is set to become the focal point of Africa's Zone 7 basketball scene as it hosts Basketball Prime 2024.
From Tuesday, August 12th, to Sunday, August 18th, the northern town of Diego Suarez will be abuzz with activity. The event will feature a U16 boys' and girls' basketball competition and a zone referee training course.
The Executive Committee of the Fédération Comorienne de Basketball and the National Technical Directorate have announced their plan to send U16 boys' and girls' teams to the Zone 7 Prime 2024 in Madagascar, scheduled for August 12-18.
This initiative represents a significant milestone in the growth of basketball in Comoros, offering young players a valuable chance to compete against top African teams. To ensure the success of this endeavour, the Fédération Comorienne de Basketball is seeking support from government officials, partners, and sponsors.
Scouting events will be held across various regions to identify and select the strongest teams representing Comoros in this prestigious competition.
