The Cameroon Basketball Federation recently held an Open Door Day for the U18 category in Stains, France, attracting young basketball talents eager to showcase their skills. This event, a significant milestone for the federation, aimed to identify and nurture young prospects while promoting the sport within the Cameroonian community in France.

During the event, participants were put through various drills and scrimmage games designed to test their abilities in shooting, dribbling, passing, and defense. Coaches and scouts amongst them the head coach of Cameroon's women's team Ahmed Mbombo Njoya were present, meticulously evaluating each player's performance.

This initiative reflects the federation's commitment to scouting for basketball talent within Cameroon and abroad. By organizing such events internationally, the Cameroon Basketball Federation aims to create a bridge between Cameroonian players overseas and the national basketball ecosystem.

Parents and local basketball enthusiasts attended the Open Door Day, creating a lively and supportive atmosphere. The event also featured motivational talks from former professional players amongst them Cameroon international Hermine Ngeuko who played at four Women's AfroBaskets, with the speakers sharing their experiences and offering guidance to the young athletes.

Overall, the Open Doors Day in Stains was a resounding success, highlighting the growing interest in basketball among the Cameroonian youth in France and reinforcing the federation's dedication to fostering talent across borders.

 

The vibrant city of Bafoussam in Cameroon's West region is witnessing the thrilling tip-off of the U18 National Basketball Championship, a premier event organized by the Cameroon Basketball Federation. This championship is a pivotal platform for young basketball talents to display their skills, compete at a high level, and gain valuable experience.

Held at the Bafoussam Sports Complex, the opening ceremony drew a large crowd of enthusiastic fans, proud parents, and personalities from the Cameroonian basketball community. The atmosphere was electric, with colorful displays and energetic performances.

Teams from various regions of Cameroon converged on Bafoussam, each bringing its best players to vie for the coveted national title.  The event is not only a battleground for competition but also a celebration of the sport’s growing popularity among young Cameroonians.

As the first game tipped off, the excitement was palpable. Players displayed remarkable skills, from high-flying dunks to precise three-point shooting, reflecting the high level of preparation and dedication that had gone into their training. Coaches and scouts closely observed the talents on display, looking for players with the potential to advance to higher levels of the sport.
