Austin Spurs: Dieng appointed Assistant General Manager

Gorgui Dieng

Gorgui Dieng, former captain of the Senegal national team, has been appointed Assistant General Manager of Austin Spurs. After joining the Spurs organisation as a basketball operations representative, the former Senegal Lions captain has been promoted to Assistant General Manager of Austin Spurs. This seems to be the next logical step in a long career in the sport for Gorgui Sy Dieng.

Madiguene Sene in Lebanon

Madjiguene Sene has played in France and in home country Senegal

Senegalese champion and 2024 queen Madjiguene Sene, who dazzled with ASC Ville de Dakar, has moved to Lebanon, where she has signed for Homenetmen Antelias Basketball, a Division 1 club in the Lebanese league. A welcome addition to the squad.

 

e-FIBA World Championship: Senegal in Group A

e-basketball is getting more and more popular

The pre-qualifying tournament for the e-FIBA World Championship for the African Zone gets underway on 1 October. Senegal have been drawn in Group A alongside Egypt, Tunisia, Madagascar and Algeria.

Mali Cup: AS Police hold off Stade Malien

AS Police finally avenged their 2024 title loss

AS Police have won the Mali Basketball Cup, beating Stade Malien 79-74. In doing so, the Police took revenge on their rivals, who denied them the title. In the women's game, Stade Malien beat Djoliba 68-61 to complete a league and cup double. Djénéba Sangaré led Stade Malien with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists.
