The much-anticipated showdown finally unfolded at the Diamniadio Arena, pitting the local powerhouse AS Douanes against the Nigerian newcomers, Rivers Hoopers. AS Douanes, fueled by their runner-up finish in the previous edition, brimmed with ambition, while Rivers Hoopers aimed to make a bold statement in their debut.

The first half was tense, with both teams fiercely contesting possession and offering no quarter. However, by the end of the period, AS Douanes emerged with a narrow five-point lead, capitalizing on fast breaks to bolster their score.

In the second quarter, Rivers Hoopers, in their much-anticipated debut, rallied. Led by standout performances from Will Perry (9 points) and Eme (10 points), they clinched the period by three points. Despite their efforts, AS Douanes maintained a slim two-point lead heading into halftime.

As the final buzzer sounded, the Nigerian club secured a hard-fought 75-68 win, leaving the home crowd, who had been passionately supporting AS Douanes, in a state of disbelief and disappointment.
